To Whom it May Concern
As a matter of urgency I would want to draw the attention of the School Feeding Secretariat to humbly enroll Yonso Islamic Basic School in the Mampong Municipal on the school feeding Program.
This worrisome plight is really affecting the Yonso Islamic School, as it blight the significance of the school due to the nature of the status of the community, especially the enrolment of the school and the pupils in the school despite the existence of intelligent facilitators and the needed resources.
Here in the Yonso Community, there are three (3) government basic schools. The other 2 institutions have been duly enrolled on the school feeding program with the exception of the Yonso Islamic Basic School.
The standard of living in the community is relatively low and hence most of the parents prefer taking their wards to the institutions where their children would be able to enjoy the meal provided by government under the Feeding Secretariat.
I have been posted here to the school for just two days and trust me most of the pupils and the few parents I have interacted with would really be happy to see the school enrolled on the program just as the other institutions here do.
As a matter of fact, one Primary 2 pupil, Hamdiya Mohammed, told me her mum wants to take her to UP(one of the schools enjoying the Feeding Program here in Yonso) because she cannot afford giving her money everyday to buy food.
Little Hamdiya said she does not want to leave our school because of the excellent delivery the Facilitators here offer but she is afraid her mum would eventually take her away by next term if still the school is not enrolled on the program. Very pathetic!
My headmaster, Mr. Jeffery Owusu briefed me on how the school has tried every possible means within their ability to appeal to the municipal assembly through the education directorate to enroll the school on the program for over 4 years now but still the menace is not solved.
Currently the total population of the school is 175 the breakdown according to the classes are as follows:
KG 1 – 46
KG 2 – 20
Class 1 – 18
Class 2 – 21
Class 3 -16
Class 4 – 25
Class 5 – 15
Class 6 – 14
Total = 175 pupils
I passionately appeal to all the relevant bodies including the Ministry Of Education, Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection, The School Feeding Program Secretariat, Mampong Municipal Assembly, Member Of Parliament for Mampong Constituency Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, to humbly pay heed to this clarion call and assist the school in this regard.
I am counting on a positive feed this time around.
